NO! WE AIN'T GUESSING

When Peter commanded the cripple at the beautiful gate of the temple to stand up and walk, he was not guessing. He had no evidence of fear or doubt in him. He spoke with authority and confidence. Many of the Bible translations have an exclamatory mark after the word ‘walk!’ showing that Peter meant what he was saying. John was close to Jesus when He was on earth but Peter was always at the forefront. Peter, it was, who first experienced God’s miracle when after trying through the night and catching no fish, Jesus commanded him to throw his net into the deep and he caught a multitude of fishes. In Matthew 14:22-32, Peter defied the law of nature by asking Jesus to permit him to walk on water and He did. So, Peter was not guessing at all when he commanded the cripple to walk. He had seen Jesus perform several miracles and had personally been involved in some. He knew when Jesus raised Lazarus to life after dying for days. He had listened to Jesus saying that they (the disciples) would do even greater miracles at His departure. Peter knew the God he was serving and he knew what would happen when he commanded the cripple to walk. Indeed, in verse 12 of Acts chapter 3, Peter was surprised that people were surprises about what happened.

Well, those were examples of miracles that took place at Bible times. There are many staged miracles on the alter today and how are we still sure that God’s Words will come to pass as spoken? Aren’t those Bible times simply gone? Well, permit me to remind you that there are several other examples of God’s Words coming to pass that transcend staging. When Ezekiel prophesied things that would occur thousands of years after his own death and after the writing of the Bible was finished, the world may have been laughing at him, but he was not guessing. Ezekiel prophesied how Israel would be taken into captivity and scattered from their land if they continued to rebel against God. He also prophesied how God would be merciful on them and bring them back from many nations, to which they were scattered, to their land. Israel was taken away by Babylon, brought back after 70 years and later scattered to many nations and their land was even renamed ‘Palestine’. At the end of the captivity period, they, in 1948 were brought back as a nation exactly as Ezekiel had prophesied. This happened before many of us were born but the history is as fresh as yesterday!

Friends, when, based on what we have experienced of God and what we know about His unfailing Words we declare that it is well with you, do you feel that we are guessing? No, we are not. We are as sure as Elisha when he told Naaman to go and wash seven times in Jordan and be cleansed. We are not guessing. I have seen God’s goodness and mercy on me, enough to make me stop guessing. When we declare that there is no sickness or disease that God cannot cure, we are not guessing. Though the doctor may give you a contrary declaration based on science, we are still not moved because those doctors do not know the formula that God used to create you. They are not able to explain how your fingerprints are different from 7 billion other human beings on earth, only God can explain the formula! In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and, based on God’s written Words, you are free from cancer; you are free from diabetes; you are healed of aids; you are healed from sickle cell; you are separated from the sicknesses of your ancestors; you are delivered from bareness. God is real and so are His Words; we are not guessing when we declare them. May you stop guessing that His Words will work for you in Jesus’ name. Have a great month and may God bless you all!

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!
