Important Documents Checklist For A Successful Student Visa Application

As the year 2023 splits into two, it is important to take a look at important updates and information that could potentially make a difference in the life of someone.  

Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom, Germany and a few other nations of the world opens up their borders to international students, today, we dive into studying abroad especially the United Kingdom. This article will explain in details a few checklists and relevant links to making a successful student and dependent visa application. 

It is worthy of note that education is not a political machine, you don't do it because you want to win the next election, you do it because you want to invest in the next generation.

The UKVI accept documents in PDF format which means you would have to convert all soft copy documents into this format if you are using self service, but if you opt for assisted service, asides making sure they are in PDF format also ensure your documents are in standard A4 size.

Required Documents

Main Applicant

1. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) - This is issued by the school upon fulfillment of unconditional offer requirements.

2.  Passport Biodata page  

3.  Visa pages (Proof of Residence if living in a country other than country of birth)

4.  First Degree Certificate, Transcript, SSCE, IELTS if required (Proof of Studies)  

5.  Marriage Certificate plus newspaper publication (Proof of relationship for female main applicant only)     

6.  Change of name affidavit (Proof of relationship for female main applicant only)

7.  Bank Statement (Proof of Funds)

8.  Family Picture (Proof of relationship)

9.  Birth Certificate (optional)

11. Reference Letter (This may include work references, employment letter, resignation letter, NYSC discharge certificate)

Spouse/Partner Dependent Application

3.  Marriage Certificate plus major newspaper publication  (female partner only) 

4. Change of name affidavit (female partner only)  

5.  Bank Statement (Proof of Fund)

6.  Family Picture (Proof of relationship)

9.  Proof of Fund consent letter  (Provided by main applicant)
